If you still haven’t experienced The Kris Lager Band they are an amazing group of musicians that are on the cusp of breaking through to the mainstream. Considered by many to be one of the most exciting bands on The American Music Scene today they capture a spirit and an energy that is as unique as their sound. Some even call them ‘The FEEL GOOD BAND OF THE CENTURY’. The Kris Lager Band embodies a ‘Celebrate Life’ mantra that resonates through their passionate live performances and have been rapidly infecting and uplifting the spirits of people across the nation.

This constantly touring outfit just signed a new management deal that is sure to raise
them above obscurity and out of the underground. With new management onboard they
enlisted the help of 7 time Grammy Award winning Producer, Steve Thompson to record with Kris Lager Band in the months to come. The future is looking bright for these young troubadours as they quickly gain fans and believers with every heart felt and electrifying show they play.

Over the past decade they have managed to do the almost impossible: develop a grassroots following across the country without any national television or media exposure. It’s a hard thing to do for a band that lives and spends a lot of time touring in ‘Fly Over Country’, but just as this band sets out to lift people’s spirts through music they also intend to change the perspective and define what it means to be a band out of The Midwest and particularly Nebraska.

A sense of purpose on top of excellent musicianship, heartfelt delivery, and great original songs. Kris Lager Band is a very special group that you’ll be saying. “I knew them when….”

A KLB show is a legitimate Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival and an Electric Church. A feel good dancing, singing, and hollering great time. The energy this band throws out from the drop of the first beat is truly contagious, and it becomes impossible to sit still. Led by one of the most dynamic front men you’ll ever witness. Kris Lager makes it his intention to move you physically and emotionally. With an unrivaled intensity he delivers raw, and powerful music through his emotional guitar playing and singing.

Kris Lager Band has been hard at work for over a decade spreading and honing their Revivalist Rock, Heavy Soul & Boogie Trance music across the country. When it comes to energetic and heartfelt live music performances KLB is second to none. They have worked with, toured, and recorded alongside some of the industries finest. All the while managing to avoid the pitfalls of the road and the rock’n’roll lifestyle that far to often derail a band on the verge of breaking out.

Their new album ‘Heavy Soul & Boogie Trance’ is a continuation to their ever exploring musical tastes and approach. An all analog and mostly live recording produced by Kelly Finnigan & Ian McDonald of Monophonics fame features their trademark lo-fi sound. The record was recorded in the bay area at Transistor Studios and mixed by Sergio Rios of the stellar funk ensemble, Orgone. It is a powerful statement of road life, love & romance, a splash of social commentary, and a few old fashioned fun jams. All tied together with heavy guitar grooves, funky drums, thick keys, and powerful bass.

The record is a follow up to their Tab Benoit produced recording Platte River Runaway which showcases a more laid back and bluesy effort. The Louisiana legend helped bring to life a strong bluesy and country side that hasn’t been showcased very often from these troubadours. The recording was conceived after a swamp ride off of the Intercostal Canal of Louisiana’s bayou. Tab believed that if they were going to make a record together they’d first have to get a little taste of the swamp and experience treeverb. The sound of the music reverberating off of the water and the cypress trees. Which Tab mimics on one of the key tracks ‘Slow Down’. Through that boat ride and ‘near death experience’ another KLB live staple came to life, ‘Sunshine On The Bayou’

KLB is anchored by Jeremiah Weir on keyboards and percussion. He is a perfect melodic counterpart to Kris and always brings the high holiness to the stage. The backbeat of the band is brought to you by freestyle extraordinaire John Fairchild, who has logged over nine years with the group and is a tour de force on the kit. The newest member of the family is Tom Murnan on bass. He brings a funkiness to the low end that is truly rare and undeniable. Tom’s slinky bass lines, energetic presence, and musicality are bringing a whole new dynamic to the band.

“I have a supergroup behind me!” Says, Kris Lager. “Anyone in the band could just take over at any moment and put you in a ‘Boogie Trance’! Before you even realize whats going on your foots tapping. Then your hips are shakin’. Your shoulders are shimmying… Next you know you’ve lost control! That my friend, is a BOOGIE TRANCE”
