The spirit of Missouri ‘Stompgrass’ lives on in this brand spankin’ new quartet, The Kay Brothers. Though the group was born last spring, the members are certainly no strangers to the Midwest music scene. Hailing from such bands as The Hipnecks, The Hatrick, Mary & the Giant, and even a metal band – Ghost in the Machine – the players have been burning barns down since they were knee-high’s and can chug moonshine without shedding a single tear. Armed with Upright Bass, Fiddle, Guitar, Harmonicas, bass drum, washboard, and sibling harmonies, they make a lot of noise… if you ride on the jangle-stomp time machine, be careful not to crack a heel.

Bitterly sweet could be a new trend flavor when the Austrian punk’n'roll ensemble Kitty In A Casket release their new album BITTERSWEET on May 10th 2013. Rather than lingering over typical stale musical spice blends and insipid ingredients, the band consequently follows their proven recipe of success from the first to the last tone of their new record: all cooking plates at full steam!

BITTERSWEET is the third studio album by Kitty in a Casket, a band formed in 2008 by vocalist Kitty Casket, guitarist Billy Bat and drummer Mike Machine with guitarist Todd Flash and bassist Tom Mooner joining in the beginning of 2012. The band still manage to keep their double-bass tradition and in-your-face punk sound. Guest artists on BITTERSWEET are Nim Vind (Nim Vind, Vocals), Ash Ghoulmore (Kreepsville 666, Vocals), Stuart Osborne (Guana Batz, Guitar) and Marc van Dank (ex-KiaC).

Kitty in a Casket will be flying over to the US for a month-long Summer Tour just weeks after the Album release. They’ll be joining southern californian Dark-Melodic Punk-rock band The Returners as a special guest on their Tour starting in July. Kitty in a Casket will finally rock the States this summer!

For the last ten years members of the Returners have been writing and performing in some of Southern California and New Jersey’s most notorious underground punk and hardcore bands touring the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Europe, and the United Kingdom and sharing the stage with bands such as 45 Grave, the Adicts, Agression, Conflict, Damnation, DI, Earth Crisis, Final Conflict, Icons of Filth, Phobia, the Presidents of the United States, Subhumans, TSOL, Voodoo Glowskulls, and countless others.

Forming together as the Returners they sought to blend the traditional old school punk rock that they grew up on with the darker aesthetics of deathrock, horror punk, gothic, and psychobilly. Choosing their name from the cult horror film Cemetery Man (Dellamorte Dellamore in Europe) the Returners share its themes of Love, Death, and all that blurs in between as well as its appreciation and love for the macabre.

In September of 2011, life for Tim and Angie was perfect. They had just booked a trip to Mexico where Tim secretly planned to propose marriage to Angie on the beaches of Playa del Carmen. Angie had been experiencing some moderate stomach issues and due to the upcoming trip, decided to see a doctor. On October 31, the devestating diagnosis of stage IV colon cancer was received. Additionally, it was learned that the cancer has spread and covered Angie’s liver. The prognosis was that this grogeous, vivacious, mother of three was given 2-5 years to live, would be on chemotherapy for the rest of her life, and she would be sentenced to endure an ostomy in order to buy some time.

On November 3, 2011, Angie was on the operating table having a chemo port installed and ileostomy created to bypass her colon. Instead of a beach proposal, Tim asked Angie to marry him as she recovered from surgery. On November 29th, Tim and Angie were married and continued the cancer battle as husband and wife.

For the next year, Angie and Tim fought valiantly, enduring more surgeries, and overcoming the sometimes devestating side effects of the chemotherapy. Angie kept her upbeat, “screw cancer” attitude and lived every day to its fullest. In September of 2011, it was learned that the cancer had spread to her ovaries and had become very aggressive. She endured yet another major operation but had to suspend chemo to heal from the surgery. That ended up being the game changer, as without chemotherapy, the cancer was able to grow unchecked.
Angie succumbed to cancer on December 11, 2012. The “two to five years” ended up being only 14 months. Angie was 39 years old.

Angie and Tim Tinnin both work(ed) for the Missouri State Highway Patrol and one of their great loves was organizing and holding benefit BBQs for individuals that had been struck by tragedy. Over the previous five years, it is estimated they and their Troop F crew raised nearly $100,000 for various causes. Even while fighting for her own life, Angie could always be found working at benefit BBQ’s to provide for others. It’s the kind of person she was.

Angie was a computer trainer, a prior radio operator for the Missouri State Highway Patrol and first female member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team. She taught nearly every police officer in the Troop F area how to navigate the computer systems they would be required to use in their day to day job. She had a love of her job and for those she taught.

In early 2012, a group of Jefferson City leaders explored the possibility of developing a program to come to the aid of fallen police officers, fire fighters, ambulance personnel, and corrections officers that die in the line of duty. The organization, to be known as Safety Net, would be patterned after the very successful St. Louis program, Backstoppers. Upon learning of a line of duty death, Safety Net is designed to come to the aid of the family to provide financial support to assist with mortgage, student tuitions, and the day to day financial burdens the loss of a spouse can cause.

In the spirit of the many benefit BBQs Angie and Tim conducted, the concept of Angie-Palooza was borne. Angie loved nothing more than organizing, planning, and throwing parties and doing so to support worthy causes was especially near to her heart. Angie and Tim loved live music and as a tribute to her, The first annual Angie-Palooza will be held on June 15, 2013 at the Cole County fairgrounds. Various local bands will provide non-stop music during the day. Food venders will also be on site as well as a beer garden with live entertainment.

All proceeds from Angie-Palooza will go to support Safety Net and help it grow to encompass more agencies and assist the men and women of public safety. Currently, Safety Net will be in place for the police and sheriff’s officers, firefighters, EMT’s, and corrections officers of Cole County. It is anticipated Safety Net will grow to encompass surrounding counties very soon with a goal of providing coverage to all 13 counties of Troop F within the next couple of years.

Angie-Palooza will be a family friendly event with police/fire vehicles on scene for children to look at and officers to talk to, Jefferson City’s best live music, and outstanding food and beverages on scene available for purchase.
This will be a “party” for all the right reasons and one you won’t want to miss.

Disengaged made changes to solidify our lineup for 2012 and beyond. Original key members of the band drummer Brad Bryan and lead guitarist Tom Williams anchor the group. In late 2011 bassist Ben Phelps was added to bolster the rhythm section. In early 2012 vocalist Jim Benskin was added to give the band a dedicated lead singer, freeing Tom to concentrate on guitar while still singing lead on some songs. Our last addition came a few months into 2012 with Emmanuel Peake becoming our second guitarist. He has brought a exciting new sound to the band. Disengaged is the most talented and versatile band in the region. Check our show schedule and come support local music!

For most musicians, “the road” is a place of either hedonism or heartache. Contrasts on the far ends of a far too common cliché. But for Soul-Blues Guitar Slinger Hadden Sayers, the road is a comfortable buzz of underground fans and passionate shows.

It wasn’t always this way.

Because for a while, Sayers wasn’t on the road.

He built a successful career in Houston, Texas before relocating to the Midwest so his wife could pursue a career in cancer research. But then, shifty record companies faded away. Band members died tragically. The gigs stopped coming through and the phone stopped ringing. The ’57 Strat stayed in its case.

However, Sayers rediscovered his love of music on regular drives to Southern Ohio where he was rehabbing a battered cabin. The murmur of radials on concrete, the sounds of Van Morrison and Sam Cooke on the stereo, and the support and tutelage of a grizzled stonemason sent him back to the recording studio.

In 2011, Sayers released the acclaimed Hard Dollar, featuring the single “Back to the Blues,” which was nominated for the Song of the Year Award at the 33rd Annual Blues Music Awards. The album launched him back onto stages around the country. More than 100 gigs followed, from New York City to Mammoth Lakes, CA.

Sayers embraced the road, loved it. Savored the miles, the buses, and the airplanes. While the easy rock and roll tale is to collect panties and mugshots on the road, Sayers collected stories. Stories by everyday people who had read HIS story of healing in Southern Ohio. From the woman whose husband had passed unexpectedly taking on immense home repairs with the help of some Home Depot classes after reading the bio…to the old man in Illinois who was moved to tears as he recalled a similar period of loss in his own life. The stories resonated in Sayers’ head and heart driving him to explore the “human condition” more deeply.. The result of that troubadour experience is the eagerly anticipated album Rolling Soul from Blue Corn Music.

Confident tunes from a mature, assured composer, the record features Sayers at his best. Heartfelt lyrics sung from deep inside matched with innovative guitar work, recorded with the warmth and soul and depth of the best vintage gear. It’s a record to contemplate and savor.

“Something Wrong in the World”, “Lay Down Your Worries”, “The Man I’m Supposed to Be”

To celebrate the release of the record, Sayers is doing what he does best: he’s hitting the road. Hauling a refurbished 1962 Airstream trailer christened “The Rolling Soul Emporium” some dates even pulling it behind his ‘1961 Chevy Bubbletop Impala to select gigs, festivals, and surprise pop-up appearances around the country, the bluesman is rolling some soul into every town. Not simply a method of travel, the trailer is a mobile manifestation of Sayers’ love of music and the road. Fans across the country will be able to track the Emporium’s movements on Facebook, participate in contests, and hang out before and after shows.

Recording artist, producer, engineer and owner of Planet Paul Recording Studios was once asked, “what would you say about Jonathan Fleig?” This was his response:

When I was young, long ago and far away, there were folks we called musicians.

They strummed guitars and played horns and pianos and banged drums and sang. They’d use most anything that could make a rythm, harmony or melody. It didn’t much matter as long as it vibrated and moved that air. The music must come forth. The vibration inside must be released. Freed through the instrument to move that air. It just had to — everyday. Food, water, shelter and music, not necessarily in that order. Serve the song.

But that was long ago and times have changed. The musician in the wild is a rare thing these days. The environment and climate have been altered to the point that survival of the musician is difficult at best. Most are confined to various types of cages or have simply vanished. People don’t seem too concerned about it. I guess you can’t miss what you never knew. Computers are cheap and don’t need room and board.

So, it’s a special thing for me when I stumble acrosss one who still runs free. Sustaining himself on music. Foresaking known paths of much greater ease. Making the sacrifice. Knowing the game’s plum crooked but playing anyway. Serving the song.

Jonathan Fleig is one such musician. For the past decade, he has traveled in service of the song. From Kansas to California, Oregon to Arizona, he has moved that air. People are starting to notice.

His last release, “The Great Awakening” with the band Soup, recieved widespread college radio airplay. It was nominated by the 21st Los Angeles Music Awards in two categories — Americana Artist of the Year and Americana single for the song “Enemy.” Check it out if you haven’t already. Real music from a real musician.

In the spring of 2012, Jonathan will release his latest album “Strange Caravan” on Herbal Records and the hard traveling will begin again. Do yourself and him a favor. Go see a show. Pick up a CD. Feel that air move.

Kris Lager Band is a Nebraska born group who have dedicated their lives to playing Soulful, original music.

With Lager on guitar and vocals and Jeremiah Weir on keys and percussion, the guys have a chemistry that comes from playing well over 1,000 shows together and the word is getting out that they are both powerful and unique. Over the past 10 years, Shane Dwight has performed over 2,000 live shows, released seven CDs with over 60,000 units sold, been a repeat performer on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise (West Coast and East Coast), headlined and performed at some of the biggest music festivals around the world, including Beale Street Music Festival, BayFront Blues Festival, Bethlehem Musikfest, Ottawa Bluesfest and Portland Waterfront Blues Festival. He has performed with and/or shared the stage with a wide variety of some of the biggest names in music: B.B. King, Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Night Ranger, The Marshall Tucker Band, Johnny Winter, Etta James, The Doobie Brothers and Jimmie Vaughan, to name a few. His music has been heard on hundreds of radio stations in over 30 different countries.

Critical accolades have followed Shane Dwight wherever he has gone.

Blues Revue magazine stated: “Shane Dwight is a talented musician and an impressive songwriter… Dwight’s guitar playing is as substantial as his songwriting.”

Born on the East Side of San Jose and raised on a horse ranch in Morgan Hill, California, it was a tough decision for Shane to pack up and move to Nashville to further pursue his
musical career. But Shane immediately fell in love with Music City and knew it was the right decision. Within six months of living there, he quickly earned a reputation as a “guitarslinger.” The Nashville City Paper called him: “One of Music City’s prime guitar warriors, Shane Dwight excels in numerous situations from story songs and laments to explosive workouts and fiery duels. Shane Dwight’s playing and singing is consistently stellar, and frequently magnificent.” It doesn’t seem to matter what town Shane lives in or performs in, the critics always seem to agree: “He plays a mean guitar, whether he’s rocking, delving into roots, alt-country, R&B, or hitting you in the gut with searing, straight-ahead blues… he plays and sings with charisma, heart, and energy.” (Toledo Blade)

Shane grew up with a family that listened to all types of music. Out on the ranch it was Willie, Hank and Waylon; but in the house his older sister was playing Ozzy, Hendrix and Zeppelin. Shane loved it all, but seemed to be drawn towards the blues as he got older. Shane considers himself an “American Artist” with influences from all of the above. Moving to Nashville three years ago proved to be a “double-edged sword.” On one hand, Shane signed a record deal, got signed with the prestigious Intrepid Artists International booking agency and became connected with some of the world’s best musicians, producers and managers.

On the other hand, it put a huge stress on his marriage. Traveling on the road for 200 shows a year and being separated from his wife the majority of that time proved to be too
much for both of them. Going through a separation and eventual divorce took a hard personal toll on Shane and his wife. It was during that time that Shane began writing songs for his latest – and best album – to date, A Hundred White Lies.

11 of the 12 songs on A Hundred White Lies are originals written by Shane during that sad, dark period in his life. As the title track states, it all began with “A Hundred White Lies.” “She Struts 22” is about the temptations that all artists go through while on the road. “Love’s Last Letter” and “Broken” are songs written about the pain of separation; and “True Love’s Gone” sums it all up. Sometimes the best songwriting comes from the darkest of times.

A Hundred White Lies was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Kevin McKendree and recorded at his Rock House Studio in Franklin, Tennessee, which happens to be next door to where Shane moved. Shane and Kevin were able to put together a cast of musicians on this album that is unparalleled. The group he recorded with was “Dick 50,” better-known as Delbert McClinton’s recording and touring band, featuring – in addition to McKendree on keyboards – Rob McNelley (guitar), Lynn Williams (drums) and Stephen Mackey (bass). On background vocals, he features Bekka Bramlett (daughter of Delaney & Bonnie, who has sung with Fleetwood Mac, Joe Cocker, Dwight Yoakum, Rod Stewart, Vince Gill and Sam Moore), as well as the McCrary Sisters (Ann, Regina and Alfreda, who have recorded with Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Buddy Miller and Wynonna Judd).

After a chance meeting with Roy Acuff, Stevie (then, a young man) was certain he would always be a musician. Born in rural Georgia, Stevie learned the ropes playing country, gospel, and blues. Rebelling against his roots, he immersed himself in the world of rock and the underground music scene of the 80s in Atlanta but never lost the twang of his childhood. Almost three decades later, he has become an accomplished performer and songwriter. Stevie has now released five solo albums and several music videos, produced music with his 1980s swamp rockabilly band, The Tombstones, and made appearances on compilations all over the damn place. In his early days, Stevie penned the college radio anthem and regional hit “Nobody”, which was later recorded by rock icon, Stiv Bators. After separating with The Tombstones in the 1990s, he toured as the supporting act for Jason & the Scorchers in Europe, which opened the door for his solo career. Taking a more serious approach to songwriting, he then began to write with as many accomplished song-writers as he could find in every realm of the music world, from street poets to music row regulars.
Bouncing between Atlanta, Nashville, and Austin, Stevie recorded Second Hand Sin (1999) and Acoustica (2000) and then settled in Texas. His full-length debut CD, 7:30 am (2003), showcased his singing ability and continuing growth as a songwriter. The CD spent six weeks in the top ten of XM Radio’s Channel 12 (X-Country) charts, including two weeks at #1. During this period, Stevie worked as a sideman for several respected Texas acts, including acclaimed songwriter, Rich Minus, and songstress, Texacala Jones. 2004 brought the Cash tribute/compilation, “Dear Johnny”, featuring Stevie’s version of “Folsom Prison Blues”, which received airplay and great reviews. Stevie followed up with a number of West Coast gigs with Supersuckers’ front man, Eddie Spaghetti, in support of the disc. 2006 found Stevie briefly back at the helm of the Tombstones for a national tour to support the re-release of the band’s earlier material. Leaving the band for the final time, he married Tombstones’ bassist, Melissa “Killene” Tombstone, returning to his solo work and fatherhood. In 2008, his sold-out show at the Red House Arts Center was broadcast in its entirety on XM’s “Wired In” series.
Stevie’s band mates, over the years, have been a veritable who’s who of underground and nationally recognized players, featuring members of Circus of Power, Wilco, the Georgia Satellites, and Jason & The Scorchers. Priding himself in his ability to cross genres, he has also had the honor of sharing the bill with the likes of Leon Russell, the Stray Cats, Greg Allman, Willie Nelson, Drive By Truckers, Johnny Bush & the Ramones, just to name a few. After living in Austin off and on for almost 10 years, Stevie relocated to Atlanta, the Ozarks, and most recently, Upstate New York.
He is presently publicizing his most current EP, Slow Drunken Waltz, as well as writing more tunes, and producing videos and songs for his next full length release, Greenwood (Cloverdale Music), due out in 2012.

I am not your typical blues musician. For nearly 20 years I’ve been providing audiences with what I call “progressive blues with funk”; drawing inspiration from such artists as Howling Wolf and Taj Mahal, Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan, and Sean Costello and Johnny Lang. I’ve performed on stages from Pittsburg, Kansas to Abilene, Texas. Some of my most memorable performances have included sharing a stage with Debbie D and The Destroyers and making an appearance with The Juke Joint Allstars at the Kings Palace on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee.

Tracy Blase, aka “The Walking Jukebox”, and a part of The Mission family will open the show and join Chris later in the evening. Another Mission favorite! It’s been close to a year since these young men have graced The Mission stage. Incredibly talented and fresh young group bringing originals and their own touch to the covers they perform. We are excited about their return!

Moon Jr. started in 2003 as Paulines basement when (singer) August Rolufs and (keyboardist) Nathan Showalter started writing and recording music together in the 6th grade. Joining them were their classmates (bassist) Mac Crain and (drummer) Brian Taggart. After high school they disbanded after the bass player and drummer moved away for school. In the summer of 2010 Augie and Nate met (local drummer) Jonathan Ammerman and began jamming with Nates younger brother Lucas Showalter on the bass. After several name changes ( rude machine, the quills, the fuzz) they decided on Moon Jr. and they have been jamming ever since ~speaking in 3rd person (jonathan Ammerman)

Bobby has been performing around Jefferson City since moving back from St. Louis in May of 2007. He has played with a number of local musicians along the way. The current version of the Bobby Showers Band started in October 2008 when Bob put an ad on Craigslist looking for a percussionist. Dave responded and arrangments were made for Dave to come to his first band practice. To Bob’s delight, Dave was not a serial killer and was actually an alright guy and, as it turns out, played a pretty mean guitar. So when the lead guitar slot came available, it was all Dave’s. The percussionist slot is now held down by the one and only Tom Reichart. The band added Jason Reimund on the bass guitar late in 2010.

Bobby Showers Band is a Jefferson City Missouri based 4-piece who’ s genre is not always easy to define. Their latest release, Zero Sum Game, includes songs with roots, blues, reggae, and funk influences, all with pop hooks that make you want to sing along. As you can imagine, the band’s live show is a nice mix of genres as well. It all comes together to create an original sound that makes people smile and move in a rhythmic fashion. The band consists of Bobby Showers on rhythm guitar and vocals, Dave Jordan on lead guitar, Jason Reimund on bass and Tom Reichart on drums.

Marbin is an instrumental rock band based in Chicago IL

Marbin first started in 2007 as an improvised music duo consisting of Israeli-American guitarist Dani Rabin and Israeli saxophonist Danny Markovitch. Markovitch and Rabin met shortly after Markovitch had completed his military service as an infantry sergeant and Rabin had graduated from Berklee College of Music. Since 2008, Marbin has been living in Chicago and performing all over the United States, playing over 250 shows a year with the accompaniment of drummer Justyn Lawrence and Bassist Jae Gentile . They have released four albums: Impressions of a City (2009),as part of Paul Wertico’s Mideast-Midwest Alliance, and three under the name Marbin (2009), Marbin as a duo,Breaking the Cycle (2011) with drummer Paul Wertico, bassist Steve Rodby (Pat Metheny Group), and Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon), and Last Chapter of Dreaming (2013) with its touring band and an array of thirteen guests. Marbin is currently signed to Moonjune Records and Management.

In addition to their regular schedule, Marbin toured with fusion super group Scott Henderson, Mike Clark, and Jeff Berlin in a series of venues on the east coast and the midwest. In March 2012, Marbin toured with Allan Holdsworth’s new trio that consists of Yellow Jackets’ bassist Jimmy Haslip, and drummer Virgil Donati.

Although The Steepwater Band got their start as devotees of delta blues, they have since been expanding on their musical influences taking on everything from psychedelia to Americana, and of course, hardhitting rock and roll. Formed in Chicagoin 1998, the band’s signature sound is at once a nod to earlier rock n’ blues combined with a raw and gusty musical approach. Band members Jeff Massey (guitar & vocals), Tod Bowers (bass) and Joe Winters (drums) have a synergy that comes from years of playing together. The rhythm section is taut and responsive; they flourish to create a perfect canvass. This sonic foundation laid by Bowers & Winters leaves the space for the guitars to soar and vocals to shine. Massey performs with a passion that can belie his virtuosity, while always being true the song at hand.

The band’s infectious energy is equally evident in their live performances, as critics and fans hail their shows as forceful and intoxicating. It is their humble devotion to music, and a commitment to achieving their musical goals without compromising the integrity of their musical vision that make The Steepwater Band such a refreshing find. In 2010, the band released highly lauded live record entitled “Live at the Double Door” which contained tracks from their previous two LPs, “Revelation Sunday (2006)” and “Grace and Melody (2008).”

The Steepwater Band’s latest studio release, “CLAVA”
(pronounced CLAY-va) finds the band hitting their most creative and focused point of their careers. The new record was recorded this past March on the South Side of Chicago at the studio of the same name. Also known as a trinity of stars, CLAVA is a fitting name for the new record produced by the trio along with Colin Sipos, a young, up-and-coming producer/ engineer who has worked with the critically acclaimed Iron & Wine and Califone. Sipos also recorded TSB’s “The Stars Look Tonight/My Back Pocket (2010)” single and mixed “Live at the Double Door (2010).” The ten new songs feature some of their most blues-infused, heavy and psychedelic tunes to date. Each song takes you on a musical journey, steeped in tradition, while not being overly nostalgic. On “CLAVA” the band honors their heroes and pays them the highest compliment – continuing the Rock n’ Roll lineage while creating paths not yet explored. This release exemplifies the musical trinity that is The Steepwater Band.

Low Man Road was formed in early 2012 by a group of seasoned musicians in the Jefferson City area. Playing a wide variety of styles, the group plays mainly classic rock but also dabbles in a little blues and other pop styles. The focus of the music are songs that are rarely or almost never performed by local musicians. Listeners will be treated to selections from Steely Dan, Elton John, Sting, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Altanta Rhythm Section, just to name a few.

Those who have seen Nikki Hill sing her ass off agree—this isn’t just another newcomer on the scene, this is a ‘whiplash’ moment. Where did this fireball come from? Why haven’t I heard of her before? If you haven’t heard of Nikki Hill yet, you soon will, and once you see her perform, you won’t forget her.

Hill draws on vintage female rhythm and blues influences such as LaVern Baker, Etta James and Ruth Brown, as well as some of her favorite male singers Otis Redding and Solomon Burke, without being stuck or pigeonholed strictly as a ‘retro’ artist. Her tough vocal style fits with contemporary sensibilities yet evokes all the great blues shouters of previous decades. With the success of similar artists such as Amy Winehouse or Imelda May, Hill is poised to blaze her own trail in their wake.

Hailing from Durham, North Carolina, Nikki comes by her Deep South soul honestly. Her musical roots began while singing in gospel choirs at church. A stint living in nearby college town Chapel Hill introduced her to many different styles of music and the awareness of music (and more importantly, unique and non-mainstream music) as a possible career. After pairing up with her guitar-playing husband Matt Hill, they promptly relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where they have established themselves as roots rock, rhythm and blues powerhouses!

Recently creating a whirlwind of excitement following her performances at the Viva Las Vegas festival (the largest roots music festival in the United States), Nikki Hill is currently anticipating the release of her first recording. Following the release of her debut effort, Hill plans to extensively tour the United States and Europe for the remainder of 2012 and well into 2013, spreading her message of down-home dirty R&B to believers and new converts everywhere.

If you haven’t heard of her yet, prepare for your ‘whiplash moment’—you have been warned.

Nick Moss has followed his most critically and commercially successful album to date with the release of “Here I Am,” a record already drawing raves from peers and mentors, like renowned bluesman Jimmy Thackery, who has praised this new set for “pushing the evolution of his music” with tunes that are “genuine and intense.”

“Here I Am” is bursting with personal growth and the kind of honesty fans have come to expect from Moss, whose unique approach to traditional Chicago blues on five studio records and two live albums resulted in multiple Blues Music Award nominations from the Blues Foundation. “Here I Am” is the confident statement from Moss the new path he forged on “Privileged” (also nominated for a BMA, but in the Blues-Rock category) was just the beginning. These 10 new originals combine to create the most diverse album of his career as he pushes his sound, songwriting, and lead guitar work further than ever before.

Moss is backed on “Here I Am” by keyboard/organist Travis Reed, Michael Ledbetter (guitar/backing vocals), and Patrick Seals (drums). Bass duties on the record were handled by Nik Skilnik and “Stumpy” Hutchkins but it will be Matthew Wilson on bass and backing vocals on the “Here I Am” tour, giving Moss his most exciting lineup yet.
